Happy Thanksgiving Day

Good Afternoon,

I hope that everyone is having a wonderful long weekend. And to my American friends that your Columbus Day has been uneventful and relaxing. We are just getting things together to head over to my sisters house to see them and other family members for a wonderful turkey "lupper". That is a combo for a lunch and dinner cause it will be served earlier in the day. Anyways I understand that the post didn't make it to everyone on time for the festivities so here is my Thanksgiving Day cards that I sent out that hopefully my family and friends will get on Tuesday. I am very thankful that we have family around us and that everyone is happy and healthy for the most part. My wish for today is that everyone has a good weekend and has the chance to enjoy those things they are thankful for in their lives.

Wacky Wednesday

Good Morning Everyone,

Well unfortunately it looks like it is also going to be a Wet Wednesday cause the clouds are moving in and we are suppose to be expecting 20mm of rain. Had I know this I would have saved my Thanksgiving Day craft for the kids for today rather than yesterday. Mind you it is always nice to have a quiet activity planned for when the baby is sleeping. Now some may think is she crazy painting with two three year old and two two year olds but really done in shifts and supervised painting worked out really well. I dont' think I had any paint on the floor or walls. Which makes for a very successful painting day, lol.

(As a side track for just a minute I have to say I love my job, when I have days like yesterday. All the kids were in a good mood. Everyone was pretty much healthy, meaning I wasn't running around blowing everyone's nose. The kids loved the craft and being able to glue and paint. And to top it when we had our circle time, read our books, and sang our favorite songs it warmed my heart to hear them laugh. Then at the end of the day when you have them give you a big hug, and say "Amy I lub you", you know that you have done a good job.)

Alright that was my little sucky moment, now on to the crafts. So I have this preschool book of songs, and stories and activities that I have been trying to use to be a little more pro-active in the kids learning. Or at least keep them from arguing and getting bored in the house from all the rainy cold days we have been having this past month. So since we are getting close to Thanksgiving I thought it would be fun to have the kids make a turkey to take home. Now I remember in school making the turkey out of a paper plate. But I wan't mine to be a bit different so I looked in my preschool activity book and found a toilet paper roll turkey. Using a traced image of the kids hands as the tail feathers. So we traced the kids hands and cut them out so the kids could decorate them with some watered down tempera paint. Then we glued them to the roll with some google eyes and a paper beak. Here is my sample along with the kids ones they made.

Now that I have shown off my preschoolers crafting abilities, I would like to show you a card that I have made to send off to my Great Aunt and Uncle in London England. This of course was made using my cricket, my ATG glue gun, Peachy Keen Stamps, some Michaels Recollection Paper,a stamp from Michaels dollar spot (sorry do not know manufacturer), and a piece of paper from the K&Company Halloween Paper Stack. Now I apologize if I have missed any other supplies because all my tools and supplies are well loved. I am hoping to get it in the mail tonight and that it gets to them by Halloween. Hope everyone enjoys and see you back here soon.

Wet Wednesday

“They say a person needs just three things to be truly happy in this world. Someone to love, something to do, and something to hope for.” -Tom Bodett.

Not so sure Mr Tom Bodett knew what it was like being stuck in the house with five small children under the age of 5. Or else he might have said warm sunny weather too, lol. So it is another day stuck in the house cause of the rain. I am hoping it stops before I have to walk to the school and pick up the kids. What is going on this fall with the weather, if it is not raining it is cold and windy. I can't believe only three weeks ago everyone was complaining about how hot it was. Well at least this is a short week and this is really a Thursday for me cause tomorrow is my Friday.
I have a small share today, since I finally finished them last night. My sister and I have decided to host a joint Epicure part in October and wanted to send out some invites. Since my sister knows I love to make cards she said I could design them. It was hard to decide what to use and what they should look like but in the end I used my cricut to design them. From my kitchen cartridge is where the apron is from, the paper is Michaels Recollections, the ribbon is dollar store and stampin up. The spotted red and white paper was from a paper pack and I apologize I do not recall the name. Used my pink ATG gun to adhere it down plus with some dollar store pop dots. Hope you enjoy. My next project will be fall, thanksgiving and Halloween cards. Presently trying to get a Halloween one done that is going to Europe so need to get that out soon.
Take care and hope to see you soon.

Scrapbookers Dictionary

Hello Everyone,

Sorry it has been so long since I have done a proper post. My grandmother passed away after a very long battle with cancer. So we are still trying to get back to normal but with school started this week everyone should be back into a routine by the end of next week. Not sure I am ready for all the homework and that routine but I am sure we will be fine.
So today is a rainy cold day so we are staying indoors. I am taking a quick techie break while the kids are busy playing Lego. Anyways I got an email from Gwen she is a Stampin Up demonstrator that posts to one of the groups I belong too and she sent around this Scrapbookers Dictionary that I thought was so cute that I just had to forward on to my friends, family, and fellow paper and craft addicts. Hope it puts a smile on your face like it did to mine.
Have a good day.

My Weekend Creations

( This was suppose to be posted earlier last month but due to family issues it is being posted today)

Hello everyone,

Well that was a well deserved cup of coffee if I do say so myself. Now as promised here are a few of the cards that I was able to put together over the last weekend. On my Stampin Up Girls Only Weekend Getaway. Now I do have to give credit to Cecilia and Jen for some of the creative input for these cards. And here we go. Most of the supplies are Stampin Up stamps, Recollections paper, Stampin Up ink or Tombow markers, along with glue glider pro glue, Dollar store pop dots, Stampin Up and Dollar store bling, Stampin Up dies, embossing folders and the big shot, and last of all one of my favorite guys - cricut. I hope you all enjoy these cards. Not sure who is getting what and when. Have a great day and hope to be back here real soon.

Stampin Up Girls Only Weekend Getaway

I know these pictures are coming a week late, but as a Mum getting a weekend away there is a lot of things that needed to be done when I got home. And anyway how does the saying go, better late than never. For anyone that does not know I have a wonderful Stampin Up demonstrator that every year takes her 10 top hostesses and customers up to her family cottage. There she treats them to wonderful door prizes, great food, and a chance to meet new people. Plus of course tons of Stampin up products to play with and try out. Now at this point I must comment and how incredibly talented the ladies that were up there are, they inspired me to think outside of the box and use my patterned paper for more than just scrapbooking, plus to put some colours together that I would not have normally put together. So without farther babbling let me post a few of the pictures from that weekend.

This is the view from where we all got to craft from, over looking the lake on a foggy wet morning. I was able to grab this photo before anyone else was up.

This is a picture of the wonderful space we were allowed to create in. Again it over looks the lake. This was taken just before we packed up to leave so all the creations were tidied up.

Here I am the lucky winner of the first door prize of the weekend. Thank you Jen. How did you know this was a set that I had on my wish list. Thank you so much I hadn't even prepared a speech.

And now I think I need my first cup of coffee of the day and figure out what else needs to be done. I will be posting later a few of the creations from the weekend too. Again I would like to thank you to Jen an awesome Stampin Up demonstrator and friend. As well as the other ladies that were there you are wonderfully creative and seeing your work inspires me to think outside the box and to use up my DSP. Thanks again and hopefully see you all again same time and place next year.

Where does the time go?

I am not sure where the summer is getting too. Or even the last week or so. I am hoping to be less busy and slow things down once my holidays start at the end of the month. One thing that I am still making time for which I guess shouldn't be top priority is to keep up with the blogs I follow and youtube videos. Thanks goodness during the summer everything is repeats, I am not sure how I will juggle the new shows and my youtube. May have to ask Santa for a PVR, lol. Anyways I am getting off topic. I have always like the idea and the look of a a mini album. In fact I have a whole box of chipboard mini albums that I got at the dollar spot in Michaels to use up once I figure out how and what topic to scrap. Well I think I also have the same problem as many other scrapbookers have, is that most of my scrapbooks consist of others and nothing about myself. And I have purchased those kits where you are suppose to take a picture of yourself once a month or candid photo and then put my favorite things and or my dreams. Well honestly I never get in front of the camera, cause I am too focused on others and the memories. So while I was blog surfing I found this lovely lady over at, www.pausedreamenjoy.blogspot.com who was making mini albums. And she mentioned doing one where you don't need pictures but only to answer one question about yourself a week. Write the question down and then answer it on a tag or envelope and keep them together in a mini album. What a wonderful idea, I have an excuse to make a mini album! Leaving a little piece of me behind without the stress of what photos to use or don't have. So I am going to try to follow along and write down one question a week and post to you the question plus my mini album page. Here is my first one. The question we had to think about was:

"If you could slow down any part of your day, which part would it be?"
I have used a snail as my decoration on the front to show the slowing down. I know when Janis did hers she used a very cute turtle. Both us of used our cricuts to cut out the images. The cartridge I believe in both cases is Create a Critter as well. My paper is a combination of Stampin Up and the Recollections paper from Michaels. There is also prima flowers on the snails shell, with dollar store rhinestones and googlie eyes. I did like Janis' idea of an envelope to place my answer inside so I have done that but have not as of yet answered the question. I am not sure what answer I want to give. Seeing my girls growing up so fast I would love to have everyday slower so I can truly enjoy my family but then again it is pretty awesome some days getting up early and walking the dog in the quiet and enjoying a hot cup of coffee before anyone is up too. So I may share what answer I choose on a later date but wanted to share the first page in my mini album about me. Also at a later date I will share the covers of this album once I have created them, lol.
Hope eve
ryone has a great day and we will talk soon.
