Well I have to say it is just down right crappy out there today!! The snow is falling not even pretty like, and the winding is whipping around the house. It makes me happy that we don't really have to go out much today, except to pick up a kindergartener at the bus stop. Which means as long as no unexpected disasters happen today I will be able to get into my craft room. Now that I have said that I have probably jinxed it but I hope not. Anyways I do have another two page layout that I have completed in the last couple of days that I wanted to show. Again this from a few years ago but I am not a chronological scrapbooker, more a grab the time and motivation as it comes. This was Thanksgiving at my sisters a few years ago. Of course I was there but was holding the camera but I am not sure why I don't have one of my Dad there or even of us around the table. But I have to say I am pleased with the way it came out. I believe the pattern paper is from a Recollections stack of fall papers, and some recollections cardstock. The journaling is on a stampin up top note die. The borders and images were all from the Recollections stack as well. Hope you enjoy and thanks for checking in.
Thanks

Our Little Star
Actually she would be very upset to hear me calling her our little star since she really isn't little anymore at almost 11 years old. Wow how fast it goes. Katie has never been much of a sports fan, we could not get her interested in playing soccer or softball or even really a proper game of basketball. But as we said to her this fall she needed to do some sort of an extra-curricular activity and so she choose volleyball. So since Oct we have been getting up Saturday mornings or her to go and learn and play volleyball with a group of girls her age. Well one day she came home and said about trying out for the school team. I was very pleased because I enjoyed volleyball when I was younger too. Now I was like her not much of a sports person but volleyball was one of my favorites when I had to do it in gym. Anyways to make a short story long Katie's grade 4/5 split team won silver last week. She was disappointed that they had not won gold but is more motivated to try out again next year and do better. The cutest part is that she wears her medal around the house quite often. It is nice to see her so proud of herself and have a little more self confidence too. Lucky enough for us Chris was able to take some time off of work to see her play a little so this week I will print off the pictures and scrapbook that into an album too. Not sure if it is going in the 2012 album or if it will just go in her school album. All I know for sure is that I am happy I picked up some volleyball paper when I was at Hobby Lobby, lol, must have known they were going to win, LOL. Hope everyone is having a good day and here is a picture of our star! We love her!

As Promised
..... here is the pictures of when I went to Hobby Lobby with my Mum for the first time. The location was the one in Florida. About 45 mins. away from Tampa. I had heard so much about the hobby lobbies from other crafters on their blogs and youtube videos that when I learned there was one close to where we would be I had to check it out. So here is a picture of me in front of the store.
I could not believe how large it is, unfortunately the others we were with weren't as enthusiastic about the store so I only had and hour to walk around. And let me tell you I didn't even cover half of it in that time. Now mind you I was on a mission for scrapbook stuff that we can't get back home. Plus I know there will another time that I will get back down there and maybe spend a little more time, and check out their faux flowers and gardening section. I do have to tell you before posting the haul I had from Hobby Lobby that I did pick up a picture frame as well but wasn't sure it would survive the ride on the plane so did get left with my parents to bring back. So here is my haul from Hobby Lobby. That punch there on the right is for making 3D flowers, and on the far left there is an embossing folder. And the middle is stickers all about girls, but not the cutiesy ones that you would expect for baby girls. There is also some new pieces for my sew easy tool, and coloured bakers twine which I have not been able to get here. I hope you have enjoyed looking at my new toys, and I hope to be able to get down to my craft room this weekend and create a thing or two to show off. Thanks for checking in and hope to catch up soon.

Happy Valentines Day
Wow I can't believe how fast these weeks are going by. I know I owe a few pictures of the hobby lobby purchases, and they will come soon. But as for today I wanted to post the lovely card I received from my Mum and Dad for Valentines day. I have not asked her but I believe that she used some spellbinders nestibilities for the circle. And looks like maybe a cuttlebug embossing folder for the little hearts too. Maybe a Martha Stewart punch for that top bubble cut out. There also looks like some red and white bakers twine in there too behind the sentiment. And she has done some faux stitching in there too. I was very pleased to receive this and hope that they both are having a warm nice Valentines day in sunny Florida.
Now as any parent knows in the schools they usually hand out Valentines. And as it should be that if you are not handing out to everyone you should not hand out any at all. Well my girls and their friends have come to not really expect but look forward to the treats that we send for these occasions. And as I do believe if they don't give to everyone they don't bring any, so this year we had to make 51 treats for the classes. That did include the teachers of course. But really I don't mind too much since I do enjoy making them and the girls love bring them for everyone. Now both of these were made with the create a critter cartridge, some recollections paper, my pink stamper stamps, memento ink, and some stickles. Oh and the treat bags were in the dollar bin at michaels. Now unfortunately Katie's frog ones did not come out very clear as I was trying to snap a picture of it as she was putting them away and so it says toadally awesome.
So I hope you have enjoyed these pictures and I hope to get back to a more regular posting schedule. Now that the holidays and travel are all done there are tons of scrapbooking stuff to catch up on. Hope to catch you back here soon. Take care and thanks for checking in.

Back from Sunny Florida
Well I can't believe how fast a week came and went. For those of you that didn't know last week I left with my sister to visit my parents in Florida for a few days. We were very fortunate that my Aunt was able to join us too. Since my parents are in an RV my sister, aunt and I all had to share a hotel room. That was a fun experience. Here is the view from our balcony. It was in North Redington Beach. We were actually right on the beach but not beach view.
But we did have a walk along the beach. The seagulls were funny cause all the black gulls were on one side and the white ones on the other. Here are a couple of different views. Now I know this is not really craft related. So tomorrow I will post my haul of stuff that I picked up while having my first visit to Hobby Lobby. Hope you all have a great day. And thanks for checking in with me. Chat soon.

Another Quick Post
Well I am starting to realize now as a Mum that if you say something to your kids they never ever forget! Especially when it is something they enjoy. The reason I say that is cause of course I am on a scrapbooking roll, not only am I getting pages done and in the right album but also I am keeping my craft room in somewhat an orgainzed state. And now I have to leave it to take them skating with friends which I did promise to do. I don't really mind, that much, because it is good exercise for all of us but I am hoping to get my mojo back once we get home! So what I wanted to do was post a quick picture of the scrapbook page I managed to finish while entertaining Rosie this morning. She is loving to ask the questions from trivia games. Good with her reading and trying to sound out words that she is not familiar with. Anyways this is the pictures from her 6th birthday with some friends. We took them to a beading store so they could make necklaces and then to a Tim Hortons close by for donuts and juice. I am very proud of these pages not only cause I used up some chipboard letters I had but because this was a page I planned out using my Close to My Heart books. The page is a mismatch of papers I had in my stash as well as some Recollections paper from Michaels. I used tons of stickles and of course my ATG gun. I hope you like it, I do have some anxious girls to tend too so have to be going. Enjoy and hope to check back real soon.
P.S. I have covered everyone's faces to keep the kids private, sorry it does take away from the whole image but it is still really nice!
