Short but Sweet

Good Day,
I hope everyone is doing well. Another short post for you today, wanted to show off another card I received in the mail from the Canadian Card Exchange, (CCE). The artist for this lovely card is a lovely lady named Treena. Unfortunately she has made me want this designer paper, the colour combination is really up my alley, love them together. I also like what she did with the flowers at the top, I usually just save my flowers for my scrapbook pages. Great source of inspiration. Hope you enjoyed seeing this and soon I hope to have some of my own art to show off too.
Thanks again,

Looky what was in my mailbox.

Good Morning,
As promised I have started to add some paper craft items into my blog. Unfortunately I can't take credit for this beautiful piece of art. I received this one in the mail as part of the CCE swap. I have to say that the picture just doesn't do it credit though. In person it is shinny and just breath taking. Now the artist is Dorothy. I have put in a request to her where she learned this technique because as I said it is just breath taking. She calls it Gold Leaf on Acetate card. And I believe that she might be a CTMH demo since I think this stamp is in the stamp of the month collection. So if any of you would like to learn more about this technique as soon as I find out more about this tutorial then I will pass it along. Hope you all are having a great day, and enjoyed this short but very sweet post.

Tuesday Tasks

Good morning,
Well today is going to be a catch up day. To me that means getting the jobs done that have been put off with school starting and holidays. One of the tasks was to show you my blogger friends and family some pictures of our vacation that I had mentioned before leaving. Sorry they are not craft ones but they will come, I promise.  Some of you know I packed the family up and we went to Maine for a few days. At first we thought our vacation was going to have to be cancelled due to Hurricane Irene that had a path up to where we were going to be. Lucky for us she was slowed down by the coast and was redirected to a different state. Now there were some seaweed on the beaches when we were there and power problems before we arrived. But all in all the weather was great and everything was cleaned up before we arrived. The pictures below is the sign that Rosie kept asking about since she wanted a picture for her scrapbook, and then followed is the girls in front of the sign of the beach we were at that day. They both were happy to stand there since it was at the end of the visit and both were very tired since we had been at the beach for about 5 hours. I am hoping to download a few more pictures for tomorrows post before I get back into showing off my crafts and hopefully my progress in organizing my craft room. Thanks for checking on me and hope to see you back here soon.

Welcome Home

Hello everyone,
I hope everyone had a nice weekend and a super week last week back to school and routines. I know my girls weren't thrilled to go back but have enjoyed seeing friends again! We had a very busy weekend with eye appointments, and dance class starting, and then also picking up items that we were not able to purchase before school started. Katie is excited cause this year she gets a locker, so Rosie and I had fun shopping for a few things for her to put up in the locker. Including a new lock. Which she liked cause it was the kind that she gets to choose the combo. I do know the combination, but shh! not going to tell anyone.
So I do not have any cards or scrapbook pages to show you today but what I do have is a picture of Chris with his new toy. It took us about 1.5 hours to put together, but nobody had their head bitten off so it was all good. My in laws bought this for him as an early birthday gift, since our last one died back in August. Not sure where it will go since it's size is considerably larger than our last one that resided on the front porch. Have to say thought I was impressed with the way it cooked our hamburgers. Unfortunately I didn't nuke the potatoes enough and put them on the grill soon enough since they were still a little firm. I guess next time I will know! I hope you all had a good couple of weeks and I am looking forward to getting back to the gym, crafting more and posting more here. So thanks for checking in and hopefully see everyone back here soon!
